About Andrea
I was born and raised in Upstate New York but spent summers as a teenager grooming horses throughout New York and New England, where I developed a love for Boston and Western Massachusetts. I obtained a BS from Siena College, majoring in Biology and continued onto veterinary school at the then NYS College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, graduating in 1989.
After a short bout of private practice, I returned to the university to obtain a residency in Anesthesiology, wherein many mentors helped shape a passion for managing animal pain. This tangent of medicine guided me through two specialties and allowed me to work for some of the most wonderful practices on the East Coast with incredible practitioners, generalists and specialists alike.
I feel fortunate to work in many facets of animal and human health, in both academic and non-academic private practices, laboratories, farms, zoos, and aquariums, teaching and learning hand in hand. I currently reside in both the Hudson Valley and in Western Massachusetts with my family and a herd of goats, and feel blessed to have the opportunity to care for our non human counterparts and their families.
